Hannah McManus

Hannah currently holds club records for the 2000 and 800 metres. In 2023, she captured numerous gold medals, which included the 800m at the Auckland Schools Championships, and a silver medal at the 2023 North Island Schools 800m Champs. She has also been a key member in championship sprint relay events, consistently delivering medal-winning performances. In the 2024 New Zealand Track & Field Championships, Hannah not only won 1st place in the U16 300m hurdles and U16 Javelin, but managed 4th place finishes in the U16 800m and 1500m. She later set a season’s personal best of 2:15.44 in the 800m at the Sir Graeme Douglas International. During the 2024 winter season she was a key member of the silver medal winning Auckland Team at the NZ Schools Cross Country events and in the 2024 NZ U20 Road Relay Championships set the Auckland City Athletics team up for a gold medal performance with a dominating first lap. Outside of athletics, Hannah’s awards have included the Junior Golden Boot award at the NZ Secondary School Futsal Championships.

Hannah’s outstanding record-breaking achievements are not limited to sports as she is also an exemplary and very academic student. In 2022, she earned the Year 9 Principal's Award and the overall Year 9 Sports Award. At the 2023 Prizegiving, she was recognized with the Junior High School Sportsperson award, Academic Distinction across all subjects, and was awarded a Diocesan Board Sports Scholarship. After the 2024 examinations she received yet another Academic Distinction award across all subjects. Hannah’s well-rounded achievements, her dedication, reliability, creativity, resilience, and personal excellence make her a standout in both athletics and academics, demonstrating and embodying the Diocesan School motto 'Ut Serviamus' (that we may serve).
