Scarlett Robb

Before focusing on track and distance racing, Scarlett excelled in competitive swimming, gymnastics and springboard diving. She still currently holds 13 Auckland age group swimming records and was also part of the New Zealand team that won the New South Wales Gymnastics Championships.

In the 2021-2022 season, Scarlett won gold at the North Island Cross Country Champs and the NZ U16 Road Racing Championships. Academically, she excelled by tackling Year 11 (NCEA Level 1) mathematics while only in Year 9. The 2022-2023 season saw her dominate the NZ Secondary Schools Year 9, 3km Road Race, retain her North Island Cross Country title, and still achieve top scholar status in Year 12 (NCEA Level 2) calculus, despite only being in Year 10.

Scarlett's achievements in the 2023-2024 season are even more impressive. She won the Auckland Marathon 5km race, triumphed in the U20 Women 5,000m at the Agency New Zealand Championships, won the NZ 5km Road Champs and was a double medallist at the Oceania Championships (gold in the 3000m and bronze in the 1500m). Additionally, she earned bronze at both the NZ Schools Cross Country Champs and the NZ Club Cross Country Champs and won the North Island U18/20 Cross Country Champs. She was also part of the U18 New Zealand team that won gold the Australian Cross Country Champs, all whilst studying Year 13 (NCEA Level 3) calculus as a Year 11 student.

Kicking off the 2024/2025 track season Scarlett claimed a dominant victory at the December 2024 NZ Secondary Schools 3000m. She carried that momentum into 2025, running 9m27 at the Sydney Classic 3000m and an outstanding 4m22 in the Sir Graeme Douglas Classic 1500m. During February, this placed her Number 3 in the world for u18 year olds. By July she had added more gold medals to her collection with commanding wins in the Auckland School's Cross Country, the North Island u18/u20 Cross Country and the Queensland u20 Cross Country in Australia.

The 2025/2026 season has started and Scarlett will once again represent New Zealand, this time at the World Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee, Fl, in January 2026. She opened the new track season with two PBs - a solo 4m22 1500m in Auckland and three days later powered home with a lightning fast last lap to clock 9m18 at the NSW 3000m Championships in Sydney. Both times are well under the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships qualifying standards.

Scarlett currently holds the fastest time in Oceania for U20 3000m in 2025. Her consistent podium finishes across national championships in road, cross country, and track highlight her dedication to excellence.
